The Franks Family

I think my most vivid memory of Beth is her changing her pants while driving down Robinson St. in Norman. I’m pretty sure she doesn’t do it any more, 12 years later…. at least while her kids are in the car.

If I had a picture handy to compare us 12 years ago to us today.. I still wouldn’t show it to you.

Here’s to being 30 and still smokin hot.

The Andrews Family… minus daddy

Do you guys know what I happen to love most about doing this whole photography thing?

I love how it’s put me back in touch with so many people from my past.

People you used to know more than ten years ago hear you have a camera and boom! the e-mails start flooding in.

I’ve said it before, but I think adulthood is the great equalizer. No matter what group or clique we may have been in through our teenage years, we’ve all grown older and wiser. Most of us are parents, and we all know what it’s like to live life in the real world.

This is one of those beautiful people. Meet Lindsey and her children Alazar and Ruta.

Lindsey and her husband, Le, adopted these beautiful angels from Ethiopia.

You can read about their journey here. A word to the wise: bring your tissues.

I asked Lindsey if balloons were okay.

I mean, I love balloons but some people find them cheesy.

She rolled her eyes and obliged. Actually she didn’t roll her eyes. I love her because she was more than willing to play along.

I love bringing balloons along when doing kiddo sessions because they make them smile.

The only problem is that I also have to deal with the distraction they bring. The only way to deal is just roll with it.

Especially when mom gets goofy and instigates a balloon fight.

By the way, we started the evening with 10 balloons.

As they drove away from the park that day, they left with 1 single pink balloon.

Thank you so much, Lindsey, for letting me play with your kids and squeal, “They’re so adorable!” over and over again.

And for letting me take your pictures, even though you did just have family pictures taken.

I was honored.

The Belyeu Family

What’s the meanest thing to do to a pregnant woman in her third trimester when it’s 105 degrees outside in August?

Take her outside and make her walk around with a tired unhappy toddler for nearly two hours.

But oh how I do love downtown Guthrie. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how amazing it would be to have a little studio there, right in the heart of our first capital. Maybe someday. It’s important to have dreams.

I think you’ll understand my dream after seeing these…

I don’t know if there’s anything more beautiful in this world than a woman with a belly full of baby.

Dear JoElla,

I hope you recovered from the evening. Next time I promise to have a route 44 Sonic cup filled with ice just for you.
I hope it was worth it.

Love,
Me
