I don’t talk too much about myself here. Perhaps I should. Perhaps it would help you, my client, connect to who I am. Because truth is, I’m not the most chatty photographer around. Meeting new people has really changed me and opened me up quite a bit to new experiences and has helped kill the shyness I’ve suffered from since childhood.

But my sneak peek I had to share today has compelled me to share a bit. When the beautiful “J” told me the pictures I was taking would just be of her I felt compelled to ask her what they were for. I’ve taken plenty of portraits for individuals who are wanting to use them for work purposes..needing a new one for their website, business cards, etc. And when she told me that they were just for her because she never does things for herself..well, I was so moved.

See, “J” had an amazing beautiful baby girl 9 months ago. And any of us who are mothers know that it’s incredibly difficult to find time to sleep, let alone remember who you are as a person..as a woman.

Having 3 kids of my own I know that getting those free moments to do something nice for yourself are incredibly few and far between.

So thank you, “J”, for reminding me to take a deep breath and maybe even go out for myself an hour or two after work every once in a while. Because I’m positive that when I get home, everyone will be okay and have surived without me.

Enjoy your sneak peek, and I hope you found a little bit of solace in our morning together.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I may live in one of the worst states possible to be an on location photographer, thanks to Oklahoma winds. Not to mention the extreme heat and cold at any given moment.

I present you with one of the bravest seniors you’ll ever encounter.

She braved the cold on a day when we didn’t even hit 40 degrees.

I hope it was worth it!

I’ve done quite a few shoots on the grounds of OU, but never on game day.

I grew up in Norman, but my family was the type that refused to leave the house on game day. My daddy hates traffic.. and it’s a trait that he passed onto me.

But I do love the atmosphere there on game days. The feeling of one big family coming together for one purpose. It’s a beautiful thing to be around.

Melanie and Joey, thank you so much for letting me catch your sweet family for you.

I do hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
