Turning one is a very big deal. It’s the first time your mom and dad give you an entire cake and let you completely demolish it. And thanks to the sugar rush, followed shortly by the sugar crash..it’s probably the day that you’ll sleep harder than you ever have.

Dear Jak Jak,

A beautiful night

I had the privilege of documenting a wedding rehearsal for one of my favorite families last weekend.

There were so many warm people full of love and joy.

Not to mention an absolutely beautiful bride dressed in white.

There were gifts.

And the food. Oh, the food.

There were also adorable twin flower girls. (I always gravitate to the babies at these events.)

And my favorite parts of get togethers…

Friends, laughter, and music.

I’m always so honored and grateful when families ask me to come along for nights like this.

I told the groom’s beautiful mother that I didn’t think the night would feel like work at all, and it didn’t.
